Afterwards
we walked the streets until we came to Plaza Singapura. We had planned
to have a quick glance but saw something that changed this into an hour!
"Snoopy Place" www.snoopyplace.com.sg
We bought a few things from there and Christine bought a handbag from the place downstairs (and a couple of other things) Snoopy Place also had an adjoining cafeteria with Snoopy styled menus (I believe) Snoopy pictures everywhere.
Christine rang people and confirmed that we would meet Margaret at Funan IT Mall KFC at 5:00pm, and Wenni at 5:30pm. We walked there and had a look in a number of PC shops but the prices were comparable to buying similar items in Australia so there wasn't much of a saving. After chatting with Margaret and Wenni, Wenni took Christine and I to a restaurant in Chinatown that served rare Indian Roti flavours. We ordered a garlic Roti and a honey one. Unfortunately it turned out that both were cooked in butter so we ordered a plain one, no butter, for me. Nice and different.
27th November. Margaret met us at the airport and kindly bought us breakfast. I was very tired after only sleeping 3 & a half hours but got ready for the flight. Looking forward to getting home and starting work! Well, I'm writing this as I'm drunk on the plane, so don't expect good writing! At the airport I saw a sign saying Scooby Doo so was looking forward to seeing this movie. Unfortunately they weren't playing it in Economy in November. Got to see the rest of Spy Kids II though as well as Animated Mr Bean and Who's Line is it Anyway - American version. On the right side of the plane was Uluru (Ayre's Rock). Unfortunately we were on the left side so we didn't get to see much of it. Everyone on the plane seemed to be excited about it though. I'll probably get there when I'm 80.
Now I'll start planning for my next trip. Japan sounds nice. And JAL apparently have cams on the nose, wings, and tail that you can access from your seat, if you want to see what it looks like outside. Sounds cool. Well I hope you enjoyed this portion of my travelogues. Please check out my other ones available from the index page at NeilHogan.com |
